EPL: Ruben Amorim opens up on Altay Bayındır performances after two games
Manchester United boss, Ruben Amorim, has spoken about the performance of goalkeeper, Altay Bayindir, in the first two games of the season.
Manchester United lost 1-0 to Arsenal at Old Trafford in their first game and drew 1-1 with Fulham in their second match of the season.
In those two games, the Portuguese started Bayindir in goal while last season’s first choice goalie, Andre Onana watched from the bench.
In the game against the Gunners, Bayindir could be blamed for Arsenal’s goal scored by Riccardo Calafiori in the 13th minute.
The goalkeeper was also shaky in the second match against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Amorim said, “Yeah, we are trying everything. But again, I know that you are focused a lot on the opponent’s corners, but if you remember this game – it was 10, 20 minutes ago – we had our chances. And we scored one goal [from] set pieces, we had a penalty, we had a least one in the end near the post. And you can see every game in the Premier League, tell me one game you didn’t see a big occasion from corners. So, I think that will happen in every game.”
Manchester United will play Grimsby Town in the Caraboa Cup in the midweek before hosting Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
