EPL: Iwobi surpasses Kanu’s appearance record

Alex Iwobi moved to second position on the list of Nigerians with most Premier League appearances following Fulham’s 3-2 defeat to West Ham United on Tuesday night.

Iwobi has now made 274 appearances in the English top-flight.

The 28-year-old was previously tied in second position with former Arsenal, Portsmouth and West Bromwich Albion hitman, Nwankwo Kanu.

Erstwhile Newcastle United striker, Shola Ameobi top the chart with 293 appearances.

DAILY POST recalls, Iwobi made his Premier debut during his time with Arsenal in October 2015.

The versatile midfielder featured in 100 league games for the Gunners before moving to Everton where he appeared 123 times.
