EPL: I’m flabbergasted – Paul Merson reacts to Arteta’s comment about Chelsea
Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has said he was ‘flabbergasted’ by a comment manager Mikel Arteta made about Chelsea following the Gunners’ Premier League 1-0 victory at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Arsenal defeated Chelsea, thanks to Mikel Merino’s first half header.
Following the match, Arteta labelled Chelsea as the best attacking team in the Premier League.
However, Merson doesn’t understand Arteta’s comment about the Blues.
“I don’t know what I’m missing,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“When Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer are playing, they are a good team. They bring the best out of each other.
“Palmer is a better player when Jackson’s playing and Jackson’s a better player when Palmer’s playing. That is fact.
“But I’m flabbergasted by that quote. I honestly don’t get that. There will be a lot of Chelsea fans reading that thinking, “Wow! What is he talking about?”
Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca admitted after the game that his team struggled against Arsenal in the attack.
According to Maresca, three of his players – Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke – with the most goals in his team this season, did not featured against the Gunners.
