EPL: ‘Excellent’ – Rooney hails four players after Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Arsenal

Wayne Rooney, former Manchester United and Everton striker, has singled out four Liverpool players for special praise following the Reds’ Premier League 1-0 win against Arsenal on Sunday.

The four players are Ibrahima Konaté, Milos Kerkez, Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Rooney said the Liverpool stars were excellent against the Premier League North London club at Anfield.

Szoboszlai’s second half goal gave Arne Slot’s side all three points Arsenal.

“Liverpool were fantastic in the individual battles,” Rooney told Match of the Day.

“They were not afraid to go in on Arsenal, especially on Gyokeres.

“I thought the back four [Ibrahima Konaté, Milos Kerkez, Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai] were excellent in how they did that, especially Konate and Van Dijk.”
