EPL: Chelsea defender agrees deal to leave Maresca’s side for Dortmund
Chelsea defender, Renato Veiga has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund amid the ongoing January transfer window.
According to Sky Germany, Veiga has reached an agreement with Dortmund but the Bundesliga giants remain in negotiations with Chelsea over a deal this month.
The report added that Dortmund are looking to secure a loan with an option to buy Veiga.
The Portugal international joined Chelsea in a £12m deal from Swiss club Basel last summer.
He has so far been unable to secure regular playing time under manager Enzo Maresca’s team.
Viega has played just 177 minutes in the Premier League for Maresca’s men.
The majority of his playing time has been in the UEFA Conference League.
Viega played the entire match as Chelsea defeated Morecambe 5-0 in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
But the 21-year-old may now be on the move away from Stamford Bridge in a bid to get more game-time.
