Club World Cup: ‘Dangerous’ – Benfica manager Bruno Lage singles out two Chelsea players
Benfica head coach, Bruno Lage has heaped praises on Chelsea duo, Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez ahead of both teams’ FIFA Club World Cup last-16 clash on Saturday night.
Lage lauded Neto as a “dangerous footballer” and labelled Fernandez as one of the “best midfielders” in the world.
“There was actually rumours before Enzo [Fernandez] joined Chelsea that he was going to join me at Wolves,” Lage said at his pre-match interview.
“In terms of money, Chelsea have one of the best midfielders in the world [in the person of Fernandez].
“But the [Chelsea] player that I really know is Pedro Neto. He is so dangerous because he can go either way [left or right] on the ball.”
Fernandez was bought from Benfica two years ago after his impressive display at the 2022 World Cup with Argentina.
Neto, on his part, joined the Blues from League side Wolves last year.
