Club World Cup 2025: Delap banned for Chelsea vs Fluminense semi-final

Chelsea will not have new striker Liam Delap available for their Club World Cup semi-final clash against Fluminense on Tuesday.

Delap will serve a one-match ban after picking up his second yellow card of the tournament on Friday night.

The 22-year-old was booked as the Blues claimed a 2-1 win over Palmeiras in the quarter-finals.

Delap will not play a part in that semi-final after he was booked for a foul on Palmeiras’ Richard Rios.

He will become the second Chelsea to serve a suspension at the tournament after Nicolas Jackson.

Jackson is however expected to be available to play against Fluminense.

Delap joined Chelsea in a £30million move from Ipswich this summer.
