CHAN 2024: Home Eagles will play for pride against Congo — Chelle

Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, says his team will play for pride in their last group game against Congo at the 2024 African Nations Championship.

Chelle’s side have already been eliminated from the competition after losing their opening two games to Senegal, and Sudan.

The Eagles fell 1-0 to Senegal, and were thrashed 4-0 by Sudan in the second game.

The Malian confessed his team made a lot of mistakes in the previous games but declared that is important for them to end the competition on a high.

“We made a lot of mistakes in the previous games, and the tournament is done, but we need to go back with something,” he told a press conference.

Tuesday’s encounter slated for the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam will kick-off at 6pm Nigerian time.
