CHAN 2024: Chelle provides fitness update of players ahead Home Eagles vs Sudan
Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has provided a fitness update on his team ahead of the crucial Group D clash with Sudan at the 2024 African Championship.
Left-back, Abdularafiu Taiwo was replaced by Harrison Uzondu in the second half of the team’s 1-0 defeat to Senegal last week Tuesday.
Goalkeeper Ani Ozoemena missed the game due to a knee problem.
Chelle revealed Taiwo is in contention to face the Sudanese, while Ozoemena remains injured.
“Taiwo Abdulrafiu is okay. However, the reality is that Ani Ozoemena is injured, and we just had to bring Ebenezer in, and I trust him,” Chelle told a press conference on Monday.
Tuesday’s encounter is slated for the Amman Stadium, Zanzibar.
The Home Eagles occupy the bottom spot in Group D with zero point.
