Championship: Maja gets plaudit for inspiring West Brom’s win over Preston

West Brom’s interim manager, Chris Brunt has praised Josh Maja for his impact in the Baggies 3-1 win at Preston.

Maja netted twice in the first half of the encounter.

The Nigerian previously failed to score in eight consecutive Sky Bet Championship games for Albion.

“Nice to see him (Maja) get on the end of it. His link-up play is so good, he’s an intelligent football player, does a really good job for the team and brings a lot of other attacking threats into the game by dropping into spaces and he did well today,” the gaffer said after the game.

The 25-year-old has now scored 12 goals in 25 league appearances for West Brom this season.

Brunt’s side moved back into the Sky Bet Championship play-off places following the win.
