Alan Shearer, Gary Lineker pick striker Arsenal should sign between Osimhen, Delap

Former England strikers Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker have chosen the striker Arsenal should sign between Victor Osimhen and Liam Delap.

Arsenal failed to bring in a new striker during the January transfer window.

The Gunners are keen to sign a top striker when the summer transfer window opens in a few months’ time.

The Premier League North London club have been linked with several top strikers, including Osimhen and Delap.

However, when asked by Lineker who Arsenal should sign to solve their striker problems, Shearer said on The Rest is Football podcast: “Victor Osimhen is there, isn’t he?

“He would, without a doubt, score goals for them. The problem they’ve got now is that the whole world knows they need a forward.”

Lineker then added: “If I were them, I’d go for Delap at Ipswich. I know he’s young and not entirely proven, but he’s scored quite a lot of goals in the Premier League this season for a team that’s obviously struggled, having been promoted.”

Both Osimhen and Delap have been impressive for their respective clubs so far this season.
