Rwanda midfielder Djabel Manishimwe is looking forward to the country’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.

Manishimwe was named in a 28-man provisional squad released by head coach Adel Amrouche last weekend.

The 26-year-old is making a return to the Amavubi after last featuring for the team in June 2024 against Lesotho.

“It was an honour for me when I was contacted by the coach to play for the national team again,” he stated.

“I know I have the responsibility to repay the faith that the coach has put in me.”

Amrouche’s side will host the Super Eagles at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali on Friday.

Rwanda occupy top spot in Group C with seven points from four games.
