2025 Ballon d’Or: We’ll see – Salah makes fresh claim about award
Liverpool star, Mohamed Salah has claimed that the Ballon d’Or used to drive him crazy in the past.
The Egyptian winger also said he has a better chance to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or due to his performances for Liverpool this season.
Speaking to former Manchester United captain Gary Neville on Sky Sports, Salah said about the Ballon d’Or: “It [Ballon d’Or] used to drive me crazy before.
“Some stuff is not in your hands so you give up in that direction.
“I would love to win it one day. But if it did not happen, I don’t know what to do. I am sure there is a good chance to win it this year, but we will see,” he said.
Salah, who helped Liverpool to win the Premier League title this season, had recently expressed his desire to win the Ballon d’Or for his people.
The 32-year-old has scored 33 goals and provided 23 assists in 50 games across all competitions for Liverpool this season.
The former Chelsea and AS Roma star is believed to be among the favourites to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
Salah is expected to compete with the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal for the prestigious individual prize.
