Wike In Trouble, Summoned Before PDP’s Disciplinary Committee Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for alleged anti-party activities.

The PDP’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said this in an interview with Channels TV on Monday.

The summons comes after Wike’s vocal criticism of the PDP and purported support for the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Abdullahi, stated that the former Rivers State Governor has been summoned to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee.

“Wike should be able to manage his words carefully; that was a very disappointing remark. We weren’t expecting him to say that, and we are not with him on that to be honest with you,” he told Channels Tv.

The PDP’s move to summon Wike intends to resolve internal party disagreements.

Wike criticised the PDP’s zoning of the presidential slot to the north and campaigned against the party’s presidential nominee, Atiku Abubakar, in the February poll.

Similar summons or suspensions were issued in Benue and Osun states for gross misconduct and anti-party activity.

In a recent television interview, Wike challenged the PDP to dismiss him, citing his services to the party, which included the installation of multiple governors, senators, and legislators.

He further claimed that many PDP governors and officials are secretly collaborating with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and suggesting individuals for positions in the APC government.

Wike’s answer and probable disciplinary consequences remain unknown.
