BREAKING: EDO GUBER: ‘They’re Suppressing Votes, Arresting My Supporters’ — Ighodalo Raises Alarm
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Asue Ighodalo, has raised alarm that voting in his stronghold is being suppressed and that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are turning up late.
THE WHISTLER reports that INEC officials arrived at Ighodalo’s Polling Unit At 10:30.
They were seen setting up while the candidate arrived and waited for the process to begin.
An INEC official explained to him that “everybody must vote even beyond the official 2:30pm.”
A visibly angry Ighodalo was seen walking around the polling unit at Idrion Vocational Centre, a voting centre at Idinro, Okaegben, Ewohimi, Esan South East Local Government Area to vote at Ward 1 unit 3.
He said INEC has not helped despite promises that they will live up to expectations.
