APC Governors Endorse Tinubu As Sole Presidential Candidate For 2027

The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) on Thursday formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was announced during the APC National Summit held in the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where party stakeholders gathered and discussed governance strategies and preparations for future elections.
Imo State Governor and Chairman of the PGF, Hope Uzodimma, moved the motion for the endorsement.
He described the decision as a demonstration of the governors’ collective confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and the direction of his administration.
“Our endorsement is not just symbolic; it represents our total commitment to mobilising resources and ensuring President Tinubu’s victory in our respective states come 2027,” Uzodimma stated.
The motion was seconded by Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, who reinforced the forum’s stance and highlighted Tinubu’s ongoing reforms as evidence of a forward-thinking and inclusive administration.
The governors affirmed their readiness to stand firmly behind the president while citing the positive impacts of his economic and social policies across various sectors.
They pledged to intensify grassroots engagement and deliver support in their regions.
The declaration of support is in line with recent developments in the APC, particularly the vote of confidence passed by North Central governors. They commended Tinubu’s developmental strides and inclusive governance and described his administration as a stabilising force in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
