Bandits have killed several people and abducted many others in coordinated attacks on Dogon Madaci, Tungar Lawal, and Rafin Samu communities in Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The attack occurred on Monday afternoon, with eyewitnesses saying the assailants arrived in large numbers on motorcycles, shooting sporadically and causing residents to flee into nearby bushes.

Many were reportedly killed, while several others sustained varying degrees of injuries. Dozens were also kidnapped during the raid.

The attackers were said to have looted shops and homes, carting away valuables, food items, and rustling livestock.

Confirming the incident, security analyst Bakatsine wrote in an X post on Tuesday:
“Yesterday afternoon, bandits attacked Dogon Madaci, Tungar Lawal, and Rafin Samu communities in Bakura LGA, Zamfara State. Many people were killed, several injured, others abducted. Properties looted & livestock rustled.” the post read.
