Zamfara: Bandits abduct five, rustle cows in fresh attack
Armed men believed to be bandits have abducted five residents and rustled four cows during an early morning attack on Kasheshi Kura village in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The incident happened around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, according to local sources who spoke to zagazola makama.
Preliminary reports suggest the attack may be linked to the activities of a local Community Protection Guard (CPG) member, Ibrahim Shaibu, popularly known as “Gwanda.”
Gwanda had previously assisted Civilian Joint Task Force (CTF) operatives—commonly referred to as Hunters—who were stationed in the area but later pulled out.
It is believed the village may have been targeted in retaliation for Gwanda’s collaboration with the security volunteers.
Security forces are currently working to secure the release of the abducted victims and recover the stolen livestock.
Additional patrols have been deployed to bolster security in nearby communities.
