Residents of Oshodi, Lagos, were filled with excitement on Wednesday after a young woman gave birth by the roadside.

According to eyewitness accounts, the woman was travelling from Ajah to an undisclosed destination when she went into sudden labour.

The sight drew the attention of several nearby women, who quickly rallied to assist her in delivering the baby.

One onlooker described the moment as “a clear act of God,” praising the swift intervention of the women, which ensured both mother and child were safe.

Attempts to reach the woman’s husband by phone were unsuccessful at first, but friends on the scene helped coordinate support until he arrived shortly after the delivery.

The atmosphere was filled with joy as passersby stopped to congratulate the new mother. Market women in the area hailed the birth as a blessing, calling it a sign of divine favour for the community.
