With Tinubu On The Ballot, APC Can’t Win In 2027, Says PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot win the 2027 presidential election if the party fields President Bola Tinubu as its candidate.
At a media briefing in Abuja on Monday, the spokesman of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, described the prospect of Tinubu candidacy in 2027 as “bad market.”
Ologunagba said no patriotic or humane Nigerian will support Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, with what he termed the litany of failures recorded by his administration.
“With the litany of failures, I can tell you that no patriotic Nigerian, I won’t say right thinking, but no patriotic Nigerian, no humane Nigerian, no group or political party, will support Tinubu for in 2027.
“And so, it is clear that, President Tinubu, like they say in the local parlance, is a bad market. So you don’t touch it.
“So in 2027, there is no patriotic Nigerian, or political party, or group, or anybody, feeling what you and I feel, feeling the insecurity, feeling the fact that the economy is comatose will vote for Tinubu,” Ologunagba said.
The spokesman insisted that the chances of the PDP in the 2027 elections are brighter than APC’s, despite the gale of defections from the opposition party to the ruling party.
According to him, the PDP is better structured and organised than the ruling party, adding that the defectors were being intimidated by the APC administration.
“That is why the PDP is a different party. We have organs, we have institutions, we allow for debate, we allow for contestation of ideas. We agreed that we may not agree on everything, but we are not disagreeable.
“We can disagree, but we are not disagreeable. And that’s why at any point, you find us being able to come back, to recalibrate, because our interest is in the people, as our name says, Peoples Democratic Party
So we are connected to the people,” he said.
The PDP National Publicity Secretary lamented the prevailing economic woes in the national life, citing a recent personal experience at the Lagos airport to illustrate the effect on the aviation sector.
Ologunagba said, “I was at the airport yesterday, on a Sunday evening, from Lagos to Abuja. And the airport was empty. And I said to a friend, this is a reflection of the economy. On a Sunday evening, the airplane was half occupied. And they increased their fares, taking more money from the people. It’s not even profitable here.
“They (airlines) can’t just shut down services.
So, with all of these litany of frustration, policy summersult, and disregard for peoples lives.
“And all, this insecurity and the hopelessness and the that the APC government under Tinubu has shown. Now we are no longer bothered about killings. Only last week or so, how many hundreds were killed in Plateau?
“It’s becoming like a new normal and so for us, Tinubu is bad market and a one-time president by these failures in government.
“So, the shenanigans of the APC in promoting crises, trying to mitigate and disorganise opposition parties are well known.
“The APC leadership knows that Nigerians are not defecting to you because they are constantly under the pressure of your ill-conceived policies and your insensitivity in government.
“Therefore, the APC cannot have a second term with President Tinubu or any of these candidates because the PDP is recalibrating and Nigerians are looking forward to having a PDP government that can connect to them, that will listen to them, and that will not say, take it or leave it.”
