Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to continue supporting the chairmen of local government areas in delivering good governance to the people.

The governor made the pledge during the inauguration of some projects in Bomadi Local Government Area on Thursday.

The governor was represented by his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the projects were executed by the Chairman of Bomadi LGA, Mr Dagidi Andaye.

The projects inauguration was part of the programmes to mark the one year in office of the council chairman.

Oborevwori noted that with focus and commitment, leaders of the local government areas could drive real change in their respective domains.

The governor commended
Andaye for the projects, noting that they demonstrate a clear focus on service, unity, development and values that align with his MORE Agenda.

“My administration will continue to support local governments to bring real benefits to our people.

“Let us move forward with hope, the important projects we inaugurated today are signs of progress and a better future for our dear state.

“Andaye, before assuming office, spent N50 million of his personal fund to fix the Bomadi-Ohoro Road. He is a true example of selfless leader.

“I have also been informed that there are other ongoing projects embarked upon by the chairman.

“These efforts reflect good governance, putting people first, improving infrastructure and showing transparency,” the governor said.

Oborevwori encouraged the people of Bomadi to continue to support the council chairman, noting that the achievements highlight the importance of unity and team work.
