Watford Terminate Contract Of Super Eagles Star, Kalu
English Championship side, Watford have agreed to terminate the contract of Super Eagles winger, Samuel Kalu following poor performances and inability to get a move away.
Kalu joined the club from Bordeaux in January 2022 and he has struggled for form and consistency at the Vicarage Road.
He was loaned out to Swiss Super League club Lausanne-Sport for the entirety of the 2023-2024 campaign, but he was unable to get a permanent move away on transfer deadline day.
The 27-year-old played 13 matches for Watford including four in the Premier League, but he was unable to register any goal contribution.
The club confirmed that he has been released from his contract in a statement on their website on Saturday.
Following the termination of his contract, Kalu is free to sign with a new club even after the close of the summer transfer window.
Kalu made his Super Eagles debut against Libya in October 2018, he was part of the Super Eagles squad to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
