L-R: Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, Lagos State Governor and Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for Ondo State Governorship Election, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has ordered its ward and local government leaders to immediately commence door-to-door campaigns aimed at encouraging residents to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a statement issued on Monday, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, said the directive is part of a broader mobilisation strategy designed to ensure that every eligible resident, particularly first-time voters, youths, and individuals who have recently relocated, is captured in the current registration window.

According to Oladejo, the campaign reflects the party’s commitment to deepening democratic participation and consolidating its strength at the grassroots level.

He explained that ward and local government leaders are to go from house to house, engaging communities and educating residents on the importance of registering to vote.

“In line with the party’s commitment to deepening democratic participation and consolidating its grassroots strength, the Lagos APC has directed all ward and local government leaders to immediately begin community-level mobilization to ensure that every eligible voter—especially first-time registrants, youths, and those who have relocated—is captured in the current voter registration exercise,” Oladejo said.

In addition to these physical efforts, the APC has launched a targeted digital campaign aimed at reaching young, tech-savvy voters via social media and online platforms.

The party is also providing logistics support in select local government areas, particularly those with difficult terrain or limited access.

This includes transportation assistance for elderly citizens and residents in riverine or remote areas to ensure they are not left out of the registration process.

Furthermore, APC elected officials, political appointees, and community leaders are playing a leading role in the mobilisation effort.

Oladejo urged party members, supporters and the general public to take advantage of the CVR window and get registered, adding that securing a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) is the first step toward sustaining the progress made in the state and ensuring the continuity of good governance.

“This is not just a party affair—it is about the future of our democracy. Every vote counts, and every voice matters. We must ensure that all our people are empowered to participate fully in the democratic process,” the statement added.

THE WHISTLER reports that INEC began the physical, in-person phase of its 2025 Continuous Voter Registration exercise across Nigeria on Monday.

This phase follows the online pre-registration, which started on August 18, 2025.

According to INEC, the in-person registration will run Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, at state offices and LGA offices.
