Usyk becomes three-time undisputed world champion with KO victory over Dubois
Oleksandr Usyk is now a three-time undisputed world champion, following his knockout win over Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in London, UK.
The Ukrainian sent Dubois sprawling onto the canvas in the fifth round of the bout.
Usyk had knocked him down in the earlier exchanges, but the Briton bravely got up to continue fighting.
But Usyk unleashed a left hook to the side of Dubois’ face that left him on his back, failing to beat the referee’s count.
In 2023, Dubois lost his first fight to Usyk, but subsequently claimed that a beltline blow should not have been ruled low.
However, on Saturday, he conceded that the 38-year-old was a better fighter.
“I have to commend him, I gave everything I had.
“There we some things I could have sharpened up on, but I will be back,” Dubois said after the fight.
