Pi Network Migration Problems Worsen Globally as Team Flags New Risks in China

Pi Network has introduced a major update to its wallet app, enabling users to purchase PI coins directly with fiat currencies. This new feature allows verified users to buy PI using local money like US Dollars, Indian Rupees, or Nigerian Naira, removing the need to go through exchanges or deal with complicated crypto steps.

Although the Core Team has not yet released an official statement, the feature has already been widely shared by community members on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter). A new “Buy” button now appears in the Pi Wallet app, simplifying the process for users to acquire PI and lowering the barrier for entry into the ecosystem.

According to sources familiar with the development, the feature took about five months to create. The team prioritised security, compliance with regulations, and ease of use. As a result, users can now avoid token swaps, unpredictable price slippage, or third-party custody risks when acquiring PI.

Since the feature rollout, Pi Coin’s market activity has seen a notable increase. The token is trading at $0.4837, showing a 6.21% price increase over the past day. Trading volume spiked by 186.69% to reach $208.87 million, while its market cap rose to $3.73 billion. Despite this recovery, PI still trades significantly below its February 2025 all-time high of $2.98.

The launch follows other major updates in Pi Network’s ecosystem. On Pi Day earlier this year, the team released Pi App Studio — a no-code development platform powered by AI that allows anyone to build and publish applications on the Pi Network. That update coincided with Pi2Day, which drew more than 2.6 million Pioneers to participate in an ecosystem challenge celebrating innovation and community growth.
