Unknown Gunmen Set Anambra Council Headquarters Ablaze
Some unknown gunmen have attacked the headquarters of Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State. The attack led to the headquarters being set ablaze.
It was gathered that the invaders attacked the headquarters in the early hours of Friday, August 30, 2024.
The assailants set many buildings and property ablaze, a source who did not want to be mentioned said.
“The attackers came in the early hours of Friday and fired shots into the air before igniting parts of the building,” according to the source, adding that,
“This is one attack too many. We urge relevant authorities to come to our rescue. We’re living in fear of these attackers, and this isn’t the first time they have targeted our council headquarters.”
Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the attack.
He said, “There was an attack on Ogbaru LGA in the early hours of today, 30/08/24.
“The security operatives gallantly resisted the gunmen. Some LGA properties were destroyed. Some buildings were affected and no life was lost as joint security operations are ongoing.”
