UEFA Super Cup: Lookman seeks history with Atalanta

Ademola Lookman will be looking to make history as the fourth Nigerian to win the UEFA Super Cup when Atalanta take on Real Madrid on Wednesday (today).

The encounter is slated for the National Stadium, Warsaw, Poland.

Only three Nigerians, Finidi George, Nwankwo Kanu and Celestine Babayaro, have won the Super Cup in the past.

Finidi and Kanu won the title with Dutch giants, Ajax in 1995.

Babayaro repeated the feat three years later, winning the title with Chelsea.

Atalanta are playing in their first UEFA Cup final, and it’s all thanks to Lookman, whose hat-trick fired them to a 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the final of the UEFA Europa League in May.

That earned Gian Gasperini’s side their second piece of silverware in 117 years.
