UCL: Joan Laporta names team he’d like Barça to face next season, lists best 2 clubs in Europe

Barcelona president Joan Laporta, has named the club he would like the team to face in the Champions League next season.

Laporta wants Barça to play last season’s champions, Paris Saint-Germain, PSG.

According to him, it would be the joy of every football fan to see Barcelona face Paris Saint-Germain.

The football administrator believes that many fans see the two clubs as the best teams in Europe.

He told the CNN that it was unfortunate that the LaLiga title holders could not make it to the final where they could have faced PSG last season.

“Paris Saint-Germain did very well last season…,” he said

“I think that we[Barça and PSG] were the two most competitive teams and the two teams in better shape in football last season.”

Laporta wants the two clubs to meet at any stage of the UEFA Champions league next season in order to ascertain which team is the best.

“I hope that [we face each other] in the new format of Champion League that is organized by UEFA,” he added.

Barcelona were beaten by Inter Milan in the semifinals of last season’s Champions League.

However, Inter Milan was comfortably defeated by Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the competition.
