U.S Election: I Will Reduce Cost Of Living, Says VP Kamala Harris

Democratic Party presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, has assured Americans of her commitment to reducing the cost of living in the country if elected in next week’s presidential election.

The Vice President who disclosed this on Thursday during a rally in Wisconsin state, assured the electorates that she will create policies that will improve the living standard of the masses.

She said, “On day one Donald Trump would walk into that office with an enemies list… When I am elected I will focus on a to-do list.

“And at the top of my list is bringing down your cost of living,” she added.

Some of the key policy areas highlighted by Harris were abortion and healthcare, as she insisted that healthcare should be a right of all citizens.

“My plan will lower the cost of child care, cut taxes for small businesses, lower healthcare costs – because I believe access to healthcare should be a right and not just a privilege for those who can afford it,” the vice president said.

On abortion, she said it is a “fight for freedom…because ours is a fight for the future and it is a fight for freedom, like the fundamental freedom of a woman to make decisions about her own body and not have her government tell her what to do.”

Wisconsin is one of the seven swing states in the US Election, where both the Democrats and Republicans have enjoyed separate wins in the last two elections.

In 2016, Trump beat Hillary Clinton 47.8% to 47% in a very tight race, while Biden flipped it in 2020, defeating Trump 49.6% to 48.9% to gain advantage in the election.

The presidential election will hold on Tuesday, November 5, 2024
