Two arrested for alleged rail track vandalism in Bauchi

The Nigeria security and civil defence corps, Bauchi state command has arrested two persons and recovered a vehicle carrying damaged railway tracks in Tafawa Balewa local government area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, Saminu Yusuf, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Sunday. According to him, the NSCDC operatives arrested the suspects on Tuesday, following a tip-off. He said that a Peugeot J5 rental vehicle with registration number KTG 40 XF was seized, carrying 80 railway track removed from the railway line and four bags of charcoal.

He further reiterated the command’s commitment to safeguard all vital government assets. He also urged the public to be vigilant and provide timely information to security agencies to prevent acts of violence and destruction.
