Besiktas have confirmed Wilfred Ndidi sustained a thigh injury while on international duty with Nigeria, DAILY POST reports.

The midfielder sustained the injury during Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying tie against South Africa at the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein on Tuesday.

Ndidi was replaced in the 72nd minute of the encounter by Crystal Palace new signing, Christantus Uche.

The 28-year-old is now expected to miss the Black Eagles Turkish Super Lig home clash with Istanbul BaÅŸakÅŸehir on Saturday.

Ndidi joined Besiktas from Sky Bet Championship club, Leicester City last month.

He has made two league appearances for Sergen Yalcin’s side.
