Tron Founder to Invest $100M in TRUMP Meme Coin Amid Strategic Partnership
Tron founder Justin Sun has revealed plans to invest $100 million in the TRUMP meme coin, signalling a deeper alliance between the political-themed token and the Tron blockchain.
The announcement was made via a post on X, where Sun emphasised their shared vision of growing the crypto ecosystem through this partnership.
Sun noted that the collaboration combines TRUMP’s community-driven appeal with Tron’s fast and low-cost blockchain infrastructure. “Together, $TRUMP and TRON are the future of crypto,” he wrote.
This is not Sun’s first venture into Trump-related digital assets. He previously invested $75 million in World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a crypto project linked to Donald Trump, and has reportedly allocated another $40 million to TRUMP tokens.
The TRUMP coin recently announced its launch on the Tron network, further aligning the two brands. At the time of writing, the token was trading at $8.93, up over 3% in the past 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap.
Sun’s interest in Trump-aligned blockchain projects dates back to November 2024, shortly after Trump returned to the White House. Within weeks of the election, Sun purchased $30 million worth of WLFI tokens.
His growing involvement earned him an advisory role within the project, eventually boosting his total investment to $75 million. In return, World Liberty Financial acquired a substantial amount of TRX tokens, tightening the ties between the two ventures.
