Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly turned down another lucrative proposal from one of Saudi Arabia’s top football clubs, Al Hilal, marking the fifth time he has rejected advances from the Middle Eastern club while maintaining his focus on continuing his career within European football.
This was disclosed by a Nigerian journalist, Buchi Laba, on his X account on Sunday. Laba’s report indicated that the former Napoli forward has made a firm decision regarding his future destination.
“Victor Osimhen officially rejects Al Hilal’s 5th offer,” Laba wrote. “He has decided not to move there, no matter the money offered. Case closed “
Despite the persistent interest from Saudi Arabia and the substantial financial packages worth €45 million per year on offer, Osimhen continues to prioritize opportunities within European leagues. The 26-year-old striker’s stance reflects his commitment to competing at the highest levels of European football.
Transfer discussions surrounding the Nigerian international have intensified in recent months, yet he appears determined to carefully consider his options rather than rushing into any immediate decision.
Intelligence from sources familiar with the player’s situation indicates that Osimhen’s primary objective centres on extending his European career, where he believes the competitive environment better suits his professional ambitions.
“Main priority is to stay back in Europe,” Laba added, noting that “a top Italian club [is] very interested and other European clubs” are also keeping tabs on the Nigerian forward.
