Transfer Watch: Fulham Push to Land Super Eagles Winger Chukwueze From AC Milan
The Premier League team Fulham has stepped up its efforts to sign talented AC Milan and Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze before the start of the new season.
Fulham FC has reportedly begun serious negotiations with AC Milan for the player’s signature in an attempt to bolster their offensive options before the end of the current transfer window.
Reports say Milan is hesitant to accept Fulham’s offer of a season-long loan with a buyout option that could turn into a commitment if specific performance-based requirements are fulfilled, unless there is a definite buyout clause.
Chukwueze has been a key target to fill the right-wing position as the London team looks to give their attacking line more speed and inventiveness ahead of the new season.
Under both new manager Max Allegri and former coach Stefano Pioli, the Super Eagles star has had difficulty securing a consistent starting position since joining AC Milan from Villarreal last summer.
His lack of playing time has raised questions about his future, and Fulham is now willing to give him a new chance in the Premier League.
Negotiations are reportedly still in progress, but Milan is anticipated to demand a high price to let go of the 25-year-old winger, who still has several years left on his deal.
