Transfer: Ten Hag rejects Antony, Man City sign Nypan as Ferguson heads to Roma
Former Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, has said that Bayer Leverkusen are not interested in signing Antony.
Ten Hag told Bild that even though the Brazilian, who is like a son to him, is a great player, there is no plan for now to sign him.
Ten Hag, who was together with Antony until he was sacked last season, became the manager at Leverkusen after Xabi Alonso left the club for a higher job at Real Madrid.
There are rumours about their reunion, which would be the third time he would manage the Brazilian, having signed him for Ajax and Man United.
“He has great quality. I signed him twice. He was like a son to me; he still is a son to me,” he said.
“We’re not interested in him at the moment, but we’ll see what happens in the future.”
Meanwhile, AS Roma are now getting closer to signing Evan Ferguson from Brighton.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the agreement is moving to the final stages, with talks now ongoing to get the green light from Brighton as soon as possible.
Ferguson is said to be keen on the move to AS Roma, and the deal is now advancing fast.
Manchester City, in another development, has signed 18-year-old Norwegian top talent Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg.
Before joining City, the Norwegian youngster was wanted by several top clubs in Europe but accepted City’s proposal. The transfer fee will be €15 million.
