Transfer: Noni Madueke decided to leave Chelsea – Maresca confirms Arsenal move

Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca, has confirmed that Noni Madueke took the decision to leave the club.

Madueke is close to joining Arsenal this summer, after the two Premier League rivals agreed a fee around £52million.

Maresca has now insisted that the England winger was not forced out of Stamford Bridge.

“If a player wants to leave, then in the end it is difficult for the club and manager. And yes, Noni decided to leave,” Maresca said.

“No one said to Noni he has to leave. It was his own decision. If he is happy, we are happy.”

Madueke has already flown out to the UK where he will undergo medicals with Arsenal and wrap up the transfer.
