Transfer: Napoli makes u-turn on giving Osimhen’s shirt number to Lukaku

Napoli have made a u-turn on handing Victor Osimhen’s no.9 shirt to Romelu Lukaku.

The Serie A side had initially listed Lukaku as their new no.9 on the club’s official website.

This followed the collapse of Osimhen’s proposed move to Chelsea on transfer deadline day.

However, before their league fixture against Parma at home, Napoli’s official Twitter handle posted a media of the dressing room with Lukaku now assigned the no.11 shirt.

There are rumours that Lukaku rejected the no.9 shirt as a mark of respect to Osimhen.

Lukaku came off the bench to score the equalizer, as Antonio Conte’s men beat Parma 2-1 on Saturday night.
