Transfer: Montpellier sign Nigerian striker on loan

Nigerian striker, Victor Orakpo has joined French Ligue 2 side, Montpellier on loan for the 2025/26 season.

Orakpo linked up with Montpellier from OGC Nice.

The 19-year-old arrived at Nice in January after impressing at the 2024 FC Bayern Youth Cup.

Orakpo impressed a number of scouts at the competition, after netting six times to win the top scorer award.

The youngster was also named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Orakpo made just five appearances across all competitions for Nice last season.

The move to Montpellier will give him the opportunity to see more regular action.
