Manchester United have gotten €10 million from Benfica for Álvaro Carreras joining Real Madrid, Madrid Zone reports.

Real Madrid completed the signing of Carreras from Benfica on Monday.

The 22-year-old signed a contract with Xabi Alonso’s side that will see him remain at the Santiago Bernabéu until 30 June 2031.

Carreras had joined Benfica on a permanent transfer from Man United after being named the Red Devils’ best Under-23 player of the 2021–22.

The left-back first joined Real Madrid when he was 14 from Deportivo La Coruna.

Carreras left Madrid to join Man United in 2020 but  he never made a senior appearance for the Premier League club before he ultimately left Old Trafford in 2024.

But after an unsuccessful loan spell at Granada, Carreras’ football career finally took off when he joined Benfica from Man United.
