Transfer: Former Inter Milan striker backs Nerrazzuri move for Lookman
Former Inter Milan striker Christian Vieri is backing his old club’s move for Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman.
Inter are in talks with Atalanta for the Nigeria international, who is the current African Footballer of the Year.
Lookman has also expressed his desire to make the move to the San Siro, according to multiple reports.
The Nerrazzuri are willing to pay around €40m for the speedy winger, while Atalanta are reportedly holding out for more.
Vieri believed the debate about the former Leicester City player age is inconsequential as he has the ability to make the team stronger.
“Lookman has the experience, it’s a different story: he’s someone who makes the difference, he changes matches. Someone like Lookman should always be signed, if possible,” Vieri told La Gazetta dello Sport.
Lookman is currently regarded as one of the best players in Serie A.
He inspired Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League success two seasons ago, scoring a remarkable hat-trick in the final against Bundesliga club, Bayer Leverkusen.
