Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has said Raheem Sterling is not going to be bullied by Chelsea.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville insisted that the 29-year-old would not be forced to join a club he does not like.
Sterling has been banished from the Blues’ first team under Enzo Maresca and looks set to leave Stamford Bridge.
The winger has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United ahead of transfer deadline day.
But Neville has claimed Sterling could yet be at Chelsea by the end of this transfer window.
He said: “Sterling isn’t someone who is going to be bullied by Chelsea. If it’s not right for him then he won’t go. So they might have to end up with him come Monday, shake hands and get on with it for the next six months.
“But Sterling won’t be pushed out to somewhere he won’t want to go. The Arsenal and Man Utd ones don’t make sense to me, but he’s a good player who would strengthen those squads. But they’re already strong in those areas.”
