Transfer: Chelsea faces new price for Lopez after Maresca’s discussion with Barcelona midfielder
Chelsea have been faced with a new price to sign Barcelona attacking midfielder, Fermin Lopez after manager Enzo Maresca held talks with the player.
The Blues have already expressed interest in signing Lopez from Barcelona this summer.
They reportedly made an opening bid for the Spain international, worth around £43million, earlier in the week but saw their offer rejected by the LaLiga champions.
However, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona wants £78million for Lopez.
The report added that Lopez is said to be seriously considering his future at the Blaugrana and has reportedly had several phone calls with Maresca.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are still working on several deals ahead of next Monday’s transfer deadline.
They have finally agreed a deal with Manchester United to sign their winger Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho’s move to Stamford Bridge will take the Blues’ summer spending towards £300m but Maresca’s side are not ready to conclude their transfer business at the moment.
