Transfer: Chelsea announce deal for another two players

Chelsea have announced transfer deals for another two of their players, Brodi Hughes and Alfie Gilchrist.

The Blues, in separate statements on their website on Friday, announced that Hughes has completed a season-long loan move to AFC Wimbledon.

The Premier League west London club also announced that Gilchrist has left Stamford Bridge to complete a permanent transfer to Championship club West Bromwich Albion.

Recall that Hughes joined Chelsea at eight years old and progressed through the club’s youth ranks.

The 20-year-old helped Chelsea reach the Premier League 2 play-offs last season and made 31 appearances across all competitions.

Similarly, Gilchrist joined Chelsea as an Under-11 and developed through the youth ranks at Cobham.

He signed his first professional contract in November 2020.

Gilchrist spent last season on loan at Sheffield United, as he made 32 appearances to help the Blades reach the Championship play-off final.

DAILY POST reports that this is coming less than a week after the Blues announced transfer deals for Carney Chukwuemeka and Julia Bartel.
