Nigeria midfielder Frank Onyeka has joined Bundesliga club Augsburg on a season-long loan deal from Brentford.
The loan deal includes a no-purchase option, with the defensive midfielder expected to return to Brentford next summer.
Onyeka expressed his desire to leave the Bees earlier this summer in search of regular playing time.
“Welcome, Frank Onyeka.We are delighted to announce the transfer of the Nigerian offensive midfielder, joining us from FC Brentford on loan. Happy to have you in Augsburg,” reads a message on Augsburg’s X account.
The 28-year-old arrived at the London club from Danish outfit FC Midtjylland in July 2021.
