Train Crushes 50-Year-Old Man To Death In Lagos
A 50-year-old man, identified as Emmanuel, was tragically killed by a moving train on Saturday morning in Lagos State.
THE WHISTLER learnt that the incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. near the Arena Shopping Mall in the Oshodi area.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating that it was reported to the Mosafejo Division by a woman who claimed to be the deceased’s sister.
Upon receiving the report around 1:33 p.m., detectives were dispatched to the scene. They documented the location and transported Emmanuel’s body to a public morgue for an autopsy.
“A woman reported at Mosafejo Division that at about 0900 hours of the same day, she received a phone call that her elder brother, one Emmanuel (surname withheld), ‘M’, aged 50 years, was allegedly crushed by a moving train at Arena Shopping Mall, Oshodi,” Hundeyin explained in a statement.
“Based on the report, the scene was visited and photographed by a team of detectives. The corpse was evacuated to a public morgue for autopsy.”
The case has been transferred to the Railway Police Command at Ebute Metta for further investigation.
