The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Community Engagement (South East), Mrs Chioma Nweze, is to brainstorm with leaders of the region on the Federal Government’s Tax Reform Act and compliance awareness.

The stakeholders’ town hall meeting, scheduled to hold on Saturday at the Dome International Conference Centre, Enugu, is aimed at addressing the challenges facing small and medium enterprises in the region.

In a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Abakaliki on Thursday, it was announced that the Minister of Works, David Umahi, governors, and other prominent leaders of the region will be in attendance to deliberate on the Tax Reform Act and compliance awareness.

She further stated that leaders of chambers of commerce, small and medium enterprises, members of the National Assembly, state assembly members, ministers and state commissioners, traditional rulers, and market women from the five states in the South East will also be present.

Nweze emphasised that the South East stakeholders’ town hall meeting, with the theme, “Tax Reform Acts And Compliance; Impact On Small And Medium Enterprises In The South East,” is targeted at boosting the economic development of the region.

DAILY POST learnt that the chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, Zach Adedeji, is the chief host of the South East stakeholders’ town hall meeting, while ministers, National Assembly members, and governors from the five states will serve as guests of honour.
