Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared the news in a post on X on Friday.

The victims; Mallam Gana Mohammed, Modu Audu Saleh, and Abba Ngumami are residents of the Water Board IDP Camp in Monguno.

According to Muhammed Aisami, the father of one of the boys, they went swimming around 7:40 a.m. on Thursday when the incident happened.

“Emergency workers and police rushed to the scene, where they recovered the bodies with the help of local residents. Medical staff at the General Hospital in Monguno confirmed the deaths and reported no signs of violence,” Makama wrote.
