Taiwan Electronics Company Bets on Bitcoin, Eyes Strategic Integration with Core Operations

Taiwan-based electronics manufacturer WiseLink has made a landmark move into digital assets, becoming the first publicly listed company in the country to support a Bitcoin treasury initiative. The firm led a $10 million funding round for Top Win International (Nasdaq: SORA), a Hong Kong-based luxury watch retailer that is repositioning itself to hold Bitcoin as part of its core capital strategy.

WiseLink’s $2 million commitment was made via three-year convertible notes, a financing structure that initially positions the company as a creditor while offering the option to convert debt into equity in the future. The company says this approach balances principal protection and fixed income with strategic flexibility.

Calling the present moment a “golden window” for Bitcoin adoption, WiseLink CEO Tsai Kun Huang pointed to global monetary easing, heightened geopolitical tensions, and the search for scarce, inflation-resistant assets as drivers of the decision. “Bitcoin stands out as the most mature and widely accepted decentralised asset,” Huang said, adding that the company’s plan is not merely to accumulate Bitcoin but to integrate it with its cross-border financial operations.

Top Win International, which will rebrand as AsiaStrategy following its merger with crypto investment firm Sora Ventures, intends to use most of the proceeds to acquire Bitcoin. The company also plans to invest selectively in other public firms pursuing similar treasury strategies, but has stated it will not operate as an investment company.

Jason Fang, founder of Sora Ventures, described Top Win as “the only U.S.-listed public company with a Bitcoin treasury model anchored in Asia,” noting the significance of WiseLink’s backing. Other participants in the round include U.S.-based investor Chad Koehn and four undisclosed backers.

WiseLink’s move is notable in a space where some companies have pursued Bitcoin reserves as a last-ditch effort to improve struggling finances. Unlike many of those entrants, WiseLink is profitable, reporting a net income in 2023 and generating approximately $46 million in revenue in 2024. Top Win, on the other hand, remains smaller, with $3.8 million in working capital and $3 million in cash, alongside acknowledged weaknesses in its financial reporting processes.

Industry observers say the investment not only signals increasing corporate adoption of Bitcoin in Asia but also highlights how treasury strategies pioneered by companies like MicroStrategy are spreading beyond the U.S. market.
