World number two, Iga Swiatek, and Emma Raducanu have withdrawn from the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers in the Netherlands.
Raducanu has competed in seven tournaments this year, fresh from crashing out of the Miami Open in the quarter-final.
She needed medical attention in her defeat to Jessica Pedula, She had her blood pressure taken and was given ice towels to cool down at a point in the encounter.
The 22-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent years, and she has also pulled out of the Rouen Open, which starts on 14 April.
Raducanu’s representatives confirmed that she has pulled out of the qualifiers, describing it as a difficult decision.
The Statement reads: “She needs a little space in the calendar to best look after her body.”
Raducanu was part of the British squad that qualified for the semi-final of the BJK Cup last year.
Similarly, World number two, Iga Swiatek has also pulled out of the tournament.
She said in a statement: “I always represent my country with pride. I played everything there was to play for the country last year. Now it’s time for more balance, focusing on myself and my training.”
Swiatek lost to wild card Alexandra Eala in the Miami Open quarterfinals last week.
The five-time Grand Slam champion was also given extra security protection at the tournament after being verbally attacked during a practice session by a man who had sent her harassing messages via social media.
The leading nation from the qualifying ties in The Hague will seal a place in the Finals later this year.
The other two teams will meet in the play-offs for the chance to return to the qualifiers in 2026.
