Suspected Vandals Abandon Cables, Motorcycles In Kebbi — Police

Police operatives in Kebbi State have recovered high-tension cables and motorcycles allegedly abandoned by suspected vandals during a joint patrol in Ribah District, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed on Tuesday that the recovery occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, when a joint team of police officers and local vigilantes was patrolling the Saki/Unashi road.
According to the police, the suspects fled the scene upon sighting the patrol team, leaving behind the motorcycles and vandalised high-tension cables.
“They abandoned their motorcycles and the vandalised cables as they fled to avoid being caught,” Abubakar said.
The police have taken custody of the recovered items, while investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, commended the vigilance and swift action of the patrol team, describing their conduct as professional.
Sani assured that the command remains committed to safeguarding critical infrastructure and maintaining public safety.
He called on residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station.
